The Lenten retreat is a short, nurturing “taster” focused on silence, creativity, and prayer, with some creative activities included. We will be drawing on the monastic traditions of creative prayer as an intuitive, sensory practice beyond words. The Morning Schedule will begin at 8:30 AM with tea, followed by a 9 AM opening liturgy. There will be a couple of creative exercises to foster deep reflection and prayer. Attendees can engage flexibly with activities or choose some alone time for prayer and contemplation. The intention of the retreat will be to Integrate Christian traditions with creative practices for personal exploration, healing and vision in a welcoming space at the Home of Compassion at 2 Rhine Street in Island Bay.
