The event will commence with a networking opportunity at 5pm with light refreshments where you'll have the opportunity to connect with colleagues, social work department staff, students and partners and allow us to express our gratitude for your support.

The new Head of Department of Social Work Professor Milena Heinsch will give a lecture If We Are Fortunate to Inherit Something Remarkable, What Is Our Responsibility?

Emeritus Professor Dorothy Scot AM and Dr Jane Miller AM will pay tribute to Dr Len Tierney on the 30th anniversary of his passing. We will also hear from Vidushi Mehrotra the 2026 recipient of the Len Tierney Social Work Travelling Award.

This gathering is an excellent opportunity to connect with your peers, invigorate your passion for social work, and affirm our shared commitment to a more equitable society.

This event promises to be a stimulating celebration of Len's enduring legacy of social work practice and academic leadership.
