Leisurely Bike Ride to Mayfield Lavender Fields via Richmond Park&Kingston

Meet at from 9:55 am for a 10:00 am cycle briefing and departure. It will be a long ride of 6-7 hours, including the rest stops. We will ride to Mayfield Lavender Farm & Fields at a slow, leisurely pace, approximately 10-12 m/h. This ride is about 42 miles round trip and elevation of 1375 ft. It includes some hills, cycling on main and smaller roads as well as cycling through beautiful parks and cycle paths. We wait for riders after steep hills to allow everyone to rest and continue as a group. If you are not able to keep up,; you can ride with us to Kingston (about 10 miles) and return to Hammersmith.

This is a leisure ride; all are invited. This ride is also a recce ride for anyone attending the London to Amsterdam Ride.

Our route takes us through Barnes, Richmond Park, Kingston, and Worcester Park, before reaching Mayfield Lavender Farm & Fields in Banstead, 1 Carshalton Rd, Banstead, SM7 3JA.. Please note that there is a £6.50 entry fee per person. You can book online or purchase a ticket at the gate. Most riders will not be entering the farm, but we can still see the fields from the cafe. You can buy refreshments and lavender products from the local cafe and shop. Our return route is via Beddington Park, Tooting, and Fulham.

Film & Photography Consent

We take pictures during the ride. If you are coming to the ride, you consent to your photographs being used to promote HFC’s aims and work. To opt out please speak to a ride marshal on the day.

As part of our agreed-upon fundraising, we request a donation of £2 or more for this ride. Please bring cash or pay by bank transfer on the day.

Bring locks, lights and carry a spare inner tube or a puncture repair kit. Bring a rain jacket just in case.
