About this Event
This programme offers participants the opportunity to learn to cycle in a fun and safe environment.
The programme is delivered by a qualified Cycling Ireland instructor from Cyclopath Cycle Education School and parental involvement during the sessions is encouraged.
This programme proves invaluable for those taking part providing a great source of exercise and benefits in mobility and independent movement through a lifespan.
On Yer Bike suggest it is best for children to have their own bikes which can be adjusted to the correct height for the child to facilitate progress.
• 4-Week Programme (Each session will be 45 minutes in duration).
• Delivered by Cycling Ireland Qualified Instructor with experience of working with children and teens.
• Parents/guardians can be present during each session and take an active role.
• Participants must bring their own bikes to ensure they are correct size and fit for them & must wear a helmet at all times. Parents are encouraged to be at the sessions to learn skills children are learning.
Children will learn how to mount and dismount while keeping control of the bike, will be guided on optimal position (seated, body, arms, legs and head) and will progress, in turn, towards moving without pedals, starting, balancing, pedaling and stopping, the core bike handling skills.
