Many have expressed great interest in learning to Crochet. There have been a few challenges over the past few weeks without a dedicated time for "Learning to Crochet".
- no video/tv set up
- no clear intent for the class (beginners vs experienced)
- left handed people raising their hooks wanting to learn
(I'm a righty but I am determined!)
Adjustments are made, corrections are in place... and we are going to start a new process to get as many people as possible on board with a skein of yarn and a crochet hook.
The dreadful chain that everyone refers to as "the snake" is the base and fundamental motion to learn any crochet stitch. But I do understand the frustration and the lack of interest to create garland for a week.
When everyone arrives, we will dig right into learning to crochet. Audrey will teach right handed and Alexis will teach left handed. Between us both, we will conquer the World of Crochet!! Everyone will be able to leave with the knowledge of crocheting the "starter with the second" row and all future rows of single crochets.
In addition, we will cover what yarn you should be shopping for and the hook size for your first project.
You need to understand that you will be taught the process but there is a slight portion of this that is your exploration and discovery. You must test for the method comfortable for you to hold and execute. We will test various ways to maintain your tension, hold your yarn and work, how to turn the hook to smoothly lock hoops. You will not be left hanging.
