Leading Curriculum and Pedagogy for Group Based Provision
About this Event
This full-day training program is designed for nursery managers, deputy managers, room leaders and practitioners who are responsible for leading curriculum development and improving practice within group-based provision.
The session will support delegates to develop a clear understanding of curriculum and pedagogy, ensuring they can confidently articulate both the what and the how of learning within their setting.
We will explore:
• Ofsted's expectations for curriculum and teaching in the Early Years
• What makes a well-sequenced, coherent curriculum
• How curriculum can support the progress of all children
• The role of teaching and practitioner interactions
• What explicit teaching is and when it is most effective
• Research-informed approaches to teaching and learning
• The difference between curriculum and pedagogy
• Continuous provision, enhanced provision and the role of the environment in supporting learning
The program is led by experienced early years professionals with extensive inspection experience and a deep understanding of the current education inspection framework. All facilitators have held leadership roles within schools and early years settings and bring a wealth of experience from across the early years sector.
