Latino Outdoors Bakersfield | Let's Go Hiking at Wind Wolves Preserve

Join Latino Outdoors Bakersfield for a free, easy hike at Wind Wolves Preserve — about 30 minutes from Bakersfield.

Wind Wolves Preserve sits at the convergence of the Coast Ranges, Sierra Nevada, Mojave Desert, and San Joaquin Valley — a desert landscape with a lush oasis of green along San Emigdio Creek. We'll be hiking the San Emigdio Canyon Trail & Twin Falls Picnic Area Loop, staying close to the creek with views along the way.

Kids are welcome. Dogs on leash are allowed.

Trail Details:

• Type: Loop
• Distance: 2.1 miles
• Elevation gain: 351 ft
• Estimated time: 1–1.5 hours
• Difficulty: Easy
• Terrain: Groomed, gravelly in spots; creek crossings along the route
• Facilities: Bathrooms available; picnic area at Twin Falls
• Parking: Free, large lot

What to bring:

• Plenty of water (no shade on this trail — sun protection is essential)
• Snacks
• Sunscreen and a hat
• Sturdy walking shoes
• Your dog on a leash (if bringing one)

Please note: Registration is required. A participation waiver will be sent to you before the event — you must complete it to participate. LO leaders are also required to complete the waiver.
