Death is something we all face, yet rarely talk about openly. This Dying Matters Week, we're changing that.
Award-winning poet and former Bard of Exeter, Ceri Baker, brings an evening of poems, songs, stories and honest conversation to the main library floor. Alongside her: the MoorHeart Threshold Singers (a group of women who sing compassionately for people at life's thresholds), spoken word poets Mark De'Lisser and Lily Redwood, a celebrant, and a hospice worker.
The evening is warm, candid and, yes, there will be moments of real levity too. You'll also get the chance to contribute to a community poem written live during the event.
There's a pop-up bar, a 15-minute break, and two hours of something genuinely worth your time. Suitable for all ages. Frank conversation about death and dying is part of the evening.
Tickets: £8 / £6 with a valid library card. Not a member? You sign up free, in person or online.
