An interactive workshop to discover the origin and traditions around a selection of popular dishes in Italy, Portugal, Spain and China
About this Event

...a creative journey throughout cuisine and conviviality in Italy, Portugal, Spain and China.

Join us for an interactive workshop to discover the origin and traditions around a selection of popular dishes and favourite drinks enjoyed on special occasions in Italy, Portugal, Spain and China

  • spot similarities and differences among the drinks and dishes from each country
  • learn essential vocabulary and expressions to refer to basic ingredients as well as simple instructions to prepare the dishes and and the drinks that go with them
  • familiarise with the simple steps to prepare dishes and select drinks to serve them with and be inspired to recreate your favourite one(s) at home for family and friends or just for yourselves!
  • be inspired to grow your own herbs at home to give an exotic flavour to your own cooking and discover that you have green fingers after all!

It will be an enjoyable language and culture learning experience with us in the University of Glasgow School of Modern Languages & Cultures (SMLC) and an occasion to find out about dishes, drinks and conviviality of meals in the West and East of our World

No previous experience in cooking is required, join us to experience the joy of food and drinks around some parts of our world!
