We are proud to host a Lamp cord repair workshop during the July repair cafe in collaboration with Darebin Hard Rubbish Heroes
Have you always wanted to know how to repair a lamp cord or know how your lamp operates?
When? Sunday, 26th July 2026

On the day, come along before 11.00am to meet Michael your repairer and bring along your lamp from home that you want to fix, if you have one.
Michael will run though how lamps operate and you can get ideas to fix your own lamp, or advice on how to do the repair at home afterwards.

Parking: on the street or in carpark next door
Public transport: 251 bus on Victoria Rd
Cycling: bike path on Victoria Rd. bike parking outside
Michael has been our lamp fixer for several years at the Darebin Repair cafe. He is also our resident test and tagger to check our appliances for safety.
Who is the host for this event?
Darebin Repair Cafe is a repair cafe volunteer group that are active in Darebin in the Northern Suburbs of Melbourne. we have been running repair cafes since 2018. We are part of the International Repair cafe foundation and also part of Transition Darebin.
Transition Darebin is a community group based in Darebin, which aims to inspire a transition to lower energy, more resilient and more sustainable ways of living. We are part of the worldwide Transition Network, an international movement of local communities coming together to re-imagine and rebuild our world.
Darebin Hard Rubbish Heroes (DHRH) is a not-for-profit group promoting and supporting reuse, repair, repurposing (upcycling) and recycling of preloved items through education and events. Keeping things in use and out of landfill.
This workshop is part of a workshop series "Winter Winners" funded by Darebin City Council and collaborating with Darebin Hard Rubbish Heroes.
