Alaska and Japan are separated by a large ocean, but the musical connection is growing exponentially.
The Crystal Saloon is proud to present "From Alaska To Japan." Featuring "Fine, Great," A math-rock, 90's emo, power pop band hailing from Tokyo, JP.
Who better to pair a math rock, power pop band than the royalty of said genres in Alaska than The Rain Dogs? The Crystal Saloon's relationship with The Rain Dogs goes back to their genesis. We're beyond elated to host again.
Starting off the show will be T-Loc. T-Loc has been on a meteoric rise since the release of his album "907G." He recently opened for Snotty Nose Rez Kids alongside Alaska favorites Brother Buffalo. His high energy stage presense and hard hitting beats are a perfect opener for this show.
Fine Great
Fine, Great are a Japanese rock band from Tokyo, formed in May 2022 and currently consisting of Yuki Ootaki -Turkeeey- (vocals, guitar), Jun Isohata -J- (bass), and Kosuke Yoshida -Suko- (drum). Influenced by B-movies and clay animation, fictional stories in Yuki's head and SF concepts are characteristic and genreless.
Although the melody is reminiscent of 90's emo and power pop, the song structure is not easy due to the many odd time signatures and the rapidly changing BPM that appear in the song. The first recording was completed at HMC Studio the other day, and an EP containing 5 songs will be released in August.
