About this Event
Row, Row, Row Your Dragon: Charity Boat Race Making Waves for a Great Cause!
Get ready for a splash of excitement and community spirit at our annual Charity Dragon Boat Race! Join us on Sunday 19th July 2026 at Canbury Gardens, Kingston-upon-Thames (close to the Boaters Inn), for a day filled with thrilling races, team camaraderie, and waterfront festivities.
We are very grateful to our Trustee, John Scorah, Founder of MOBSTA, for Sponsoring our entry into this fabulous event, for the second year in a row, and, of course, to the MOBSTA Team for volunteering to row and for their amazing fundraising efforts.
Check out their website: https://mobsta.com/meet-the-team
We have now secured our rowing team as there are a limited number of places. However, there may be opportunties to row on the day.
This year, we will have a stall selling drinks and snacks. It would be wonderful if you could help us on the stall!
- Exciting Dragon Boat Races: Watch teams paddle in perfect harmony as they race to the finish line in traditional dragon boats. Feel the excitement and cheer for our fabulous Silverlining team!
- Family Fun Activities: Enjoy a variety of fun-filled activities for all ages, including market stalls, food stalls, a children's fair, and plenty of space for a family picnic.
- Support a Great Cause: Cheer loudly for The Silverlining Brain Injury Charity. All funds raised by the team go directly to The Silverlining Brain Injury Charity, helping to support adults who have sustained a brain injury, their family members, and their carers. We also offer services to professionals and volunteers who are keen to learn, support and get involved. We understand the effects of brain injury, so we create activities, events, and environments that are inclusive and look to enable all.
- Can't Make it on The Day?: You can still support us with a donation. Click the following link to donate: The Silverlining Brain Injury Charity - Make A Donation
Accessibility: Provision is made for competitors who register as having special needs, who will have to sign (or have signed on their behalf by an appropriate person) a Disabled Waiver Form. All special-needs competitors must be able to sit unaided in a dragon boat, be capable of obeying instructions given by DBE’s helmsperson both on and off the water, and be comfortable in deep water whilst wearing the personal flotation device provided. They will not be required to swim 50 metres, but they must be escorted by an able-bodied “buddy” who they are capable of communicating with and who will be briefed as to their duties. Disabled Waiver Forms will be available on the day at registration, and beforehand from Kingston Rotary Club.
