KIKU means "to listen" in Japanese. Every Tuesday we slow down, gather in a room, and hear a record the way it was meant to be heard, with attention, context, and other people.
November 10 is In Rainbows (2007). The band had nearly split, and the record came out with no label behind it, as a download where the price box said it was up to you. Under the stunt is their warmest album: Nude, a song they had tried on three earlier records and finally finished after ten years, and Nigel Godrich recording the fingerprints of the rooms along with the band. We play it front to back.
This November at Kiku:
November 3: Kid A (2000)
November 10: In Rainbows (2007)
November 17: A Moon Shaped Pool (2016)
November 24: OK Computer (1997)
KIKU. Rhythm. Stories. Culture.
