Do you know what to do if someone is experiencing an opioid overdose?
About this Event

Drop in and learn life-saving opioid overdose response skills through an interactive virtual reality (VR) simulation. Walk away with your own naloxone kit!

Participants can choose how they engage. You may:

  • Learn about how to recognize an opioid overdose and administer naloxone
  • Speak with a Simulation Centre educator and ask questions
  • Try the VR simulation and practice responding to a realistic overdose scenario

The full experience, including the VR simulation, takes approximately 30 minutes, but you are welcome to join and leave at any time.

Why participate?

  • Practice your response skills in a realistic setting: Step into a realistic overdose response scenario and apply your knowledge in a safe, interactive environment.
  • Build confidence through evidence-informed practice: Engage with an avatar-based scenario developed with expert input and learn overdose response best practices.
  • Learn a trauma-informed approach: The training was developed with people who use substances and individuals with lived experience of overdose, ensuring teachings are safe, respectful, and non-judgmental.
