Stop by the Macon County Public Library at 3:30pm on Thursday, July 9th to meet some local salamanders! Outreach Director Skye will introduce budding herpetologists (amphibian and reptile scientists) to a few live 'manders as we explore what kinds of salamanders live in WNC, how these mysterious creatures spend their days, and why they are important to both humans and nature.This program will run from 3:30pm-4:30pm, and is free and open to the public with no registration required. It's geared towards children ages 7-13, but salamander lovers of all ages are invited to attend. Note that we will be strictly observing (not handling) salamanders during this event.
