Did you know that aside from our lovely European-introduced honeybee, there are 300 species of wild bees in our region?Come learn how to partner with many of these other species, from the Mason Bee to the Resin Bee, all of which are friendly and won't sting. We are getting together to build a bee hotel to take home, and it's a fun afternoon for adults and kids alike (Ages 9 and under are free, inquire for special rates for families with kids who will also be participating). Bee hotels are an incredible asset for gardens and orchards, and of course for anyone who wants a predictable accessible way to frequently see them and learn about them.
Families are welcome even if only one bee hotel kit is desired.
Cost is 55 dollars per attendee and includes a bee hotel which you complete in the class with my help, lots of information on native solitary bees, and an opportunity to ask any bee-related questions you may have!
