23 November 2024 as we travel to Otorohanga to board the Northern Explorer Train to Paraparaumu.
This section of the journey includes the Central Plateau, 5 Viaducts and the Raurimu Spiral.
Night stay in 4 star motel (Twin or Queen units) in Paraparaumu
24th November - Day trip to Kapiti Island - day includes boat transfer in morning and pick up early afternoon. Once on the island the group will receive an introduction talk and then it is up to you where you walk or relax around the beach and shelter area.
25th November - travel back to Taranaki. We will have a stop in Whanganui for lunch etc
Price is $1340.00 per person for all transport (12 seater van Taranaki to Otorohanga and then Paraparaumu to Taranaki) Train ticket, Boat to/from Kapiti and DOC permit for the island, 2 nights accommodation in twin/double share and breakfast, 2 dinners.
Does not include lunches - on day one you can purchase on the train or take your own, day two we will stop a bakeries/cafes for people to purchase lunch to take to island.
