Plants are more than just greenery—they are essential to the ecosystem and have been used for food, medicine, and culture throughout history. Join us for an exciting Junior Ranger adventure all about the diverse plant life at Seven Islands State Birding Park. We’ll explore native plants learn about their role in supporting wildlife, and hike to discover how plants shape our landscape.
This program is recommended for children ages 6–14 and meets the “Safety” requirement in the Junior Ranger Adventure Guide. Be prepared to walk approximately 2 miles on natural trail surfaces. For more details about the route, please read the Essential Eligibility Criteria. The program will last about 1.5 to 2 hours and includes a guided hike and hands-on activities.
The cost for this program is $5 per participating child. Children must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Please come prepared with good hiking shoes, drinking water, and weather-appropriate clothing. Pets are not allowed on programs, except service animals.
