**Pre-registration is required for this event.**Join Ranger Stephanie or a magical evening walk under the light of the Strawberry Moon, named for its appearance during strawberry harvesting season. As we explore the Accessible Bobwhite Trail, we’ll look and listen for the many nocturnal creatures that call Seven Islands home—including owls, bats, insects, and others. This special night also coincides with the peak of firefly season, so be prepared for a dazzling display of nature’s own light show!
This program is recommended for ages 6 and up. Please meet at the Bluebird Barn at 8:30 PM. Be prepared to walk approximately 2.5 miles over both paved and unpaved trails. For more details about the route we will take, read the Essential Eligibility Criteria. The program will include guided stops to discuss nocturnal wildlife, ecology, and time to quietly observe the fireflies and other animals.
The cost of this program is $12 per participant. Children under 5 are free with a paying adult. Only registered participants will be permitted in the park after hours.
Please come prepared with sturdy walking shoes, water, and weather-appropriate clothing. Flashlights are suggested but should be used only when necessary. Red or colored lenses are preferred to help preserve night vision. Pets are not allowed on programs, except service animals.
