About this Event

How do we build communities that prescribe connection rather than isolation? In her groundbreaking book The Connection Cure: The Prescriptive Power of Movement, Nature, Art, Service, and Belonging, journalist Julia Hotz reveals a revolutionary approach to health that's spreading across over thirty countries. Instead of defaulting to pharmaceuticals, doctors and healthcare workers are writing prescriptions for community activities. The results are remarkable, patients reporting dramatic improvements not just in symptoms, but in their sense of purpose, connection, and joy.

What role can public institutions like libraries play in becoming hubs of social health? How do we shift from treating symptoms of sickness to reconnecting people with sources of wellness? And what would it mean if we redesigned our cities, our healthcare systems, and our daily routines around the radical idea that human connection is medicine?

Join one of the leading voices on social prescribing for a conversation about transforming how we think about health, community, and what it means to truly care for one another.

Q&A and book signing to follow. Books available for purchase.
