Join the Cast: Be Part of a Brand New Theatre Project in Rotherham!

Whether you’re a dancer, actor, musician - or just someone who’s always wanted to try performing - we’re looking for young people to join the cast of a brand new show being created right here in Rotherham.

Over five weeks, you’ll work with Chol Theatre to build a bold new performance exploring creation, connection, and the spaces where human and machine begin to blur. No experience is needed, just energy, curiosity, and an open mind!

Rehearsals: Every Wednesday, 5 - 8pm, starting 5 November

Final Show Date: Saturday 6 December

This is your chance to meet other young creatives, gain performance experience, and help shape something completely original, made by and for the young people of Rotherham.

This new theatre project is part of Cast Offs 2025, celebrating Rotherham’s rich history of youth theatre and creativity.

The original Cast Offs theatre company began over 20 years ago as part of Rotherham Youth Services - a pioneering, inclusive space where young people could perform, create, and have their voices heard. The group became known for its ambitious work, taking original productions all the way to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and shaping the creative journeys of hundreds of young people in the town.

Now, Chol Theatre, in collaboration with Children’s Capital of Culture, is reigniting that spirit, creating a new generation of Cast Offs for today. This new company will bring together young people to explore what creativity, identity, and technology mean in their world, and to share those stories on stage.

You’ll learn new skills, gain confidence, and be part of something completely new.
