The John Adams Memorial Game is back again for its fourth year!
📅Date: Sunday, 28th June 2026
📍: Winchmore Hill Cricket Club @whcc.penn
⏰️1.30pm
Many of you may remember John from around Holmer Green, where he moved in 1981. John grew up in Winchmore Hill and was naturally drawn to the cricket and football played on the common.
In 1972, he was persuaded to move to @holmergreencricket where he played for eight years, before then returning to Winchmore Hill for four seasons. Finally, he moved back to Holmer Green to play alongside our very own Stephen 'Fish' Adams.
John continued to play until 1994, aged 50, taking 50 wickets in his final season. He supported the club by umpiring, scoring, and briefly serving as Chairman in 1991.
John very sadly passed away unexpectedly in May 2022, and to honor his memory, the family and both clubs decided to host an annual cricket match for him. Last year's game was held at Winchmore Hill Cricket Club, with well over 100 spectators remembering John and raising money for Diabetes UK.
John suffered from diabetes for over 40 years, and any money raised will go to @Diabetesuk , which is close to his and the Adams family's heart!
