Joel Veena: Ragas & Sagas at the Latchis Theatre

Original and traditional music played on the Indian slide guitar alongside dynamic storytelling; fascinating tales from the lore of Hindustani music. Accompanied by Yousuf Kerai on tabla. An immersive performance experience in which the rich atmosphere of traditional ragas is woven into deftly told stories; guiding and uplifting the imagination of the audience while celebrating and continuing the rich tradition of Hindustani classical music.
“The late great George Harrison may have brought this musical spirit into the Western mainstream, but Veena takes Indian guitar right back to its roots, sharing the cathartic charm of North Indian ragas with global ears.”
