The Windham Philharmonic, under Music Director Hugh Keelan, presents "A Concert of Gratitude and Representation" on Monday, November 9 at 7 pm at the Latchis Theatre. The program spans 332 years: from Elisabeth-Claude Jacquet de la Guerre's 1694 overture to Céphale et Procris, through music by Louise Farrenc, Cécile Chaminade and Ruth Crawford, to world premieres by Kirsten C. Kunkle, Adrianne Greenbaum, Kelsey Gallagher and Miriam Sharrock. Adrianne Greenbaum, the "Queen of the Klezmer Flute" and former Principal Flute of the New Haven Symphony, performs her own FleytMuzik. Kelsey Gallagher plays her new work for clarinet and noise. The evening closes with Sharrock's Quondam, celebrating the timpani Ron Holdman has donated to the orchestra, with Steve Rice as soloist. "A program arranged as lovingly as this one," says Keelan, "is an argument with no slogan." About 70 minutes, no intermission. Please donate at the door.
