Japan-Iceland Friendship Concert by the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force Band

Æfingafloti japanska sjávarsjálfsvarnarliðsins (Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force, JMSDF) mun koma í fyrsta sinn til hafnar í Reykjavík í lok júlí sem hluti af þjálfunarsiglingu um heiminn. Í þessari siglingu taka þátt nýútskrifaðir yfirmenn JMSDF, sem öðlast hagnýta reynslu á sjó til að búa sig undir leiðtogahlutverk framtíðarinnar, víkka alþjóðlega sýn sína og efla vináttutengsl við fólk um allan heim.
Í tengslum við heimsóknina mun hljómsveit JMSDF, skipuð afar færum tónlistarmönnum, halda sérstaka tónleika fyrir almenning. Á dagskránni verður um 50 mínútna fjölbreytt og kraftmikil tónleikadagskrá, þar á meðal hefðbundinn japanskur taikó-trommuleikur og blásarasveitartónlist.
Flutt verður fjölbreytt úrval tónlistar, allt frá alþjóðlegri tónlist og kvikmyndatónlist til japanskra dægurlaga og tónlistar úr japönskum teiknimyndum.
Á þessu ári eru 70 ár liðin frá stofnun stjórnmálasambands Japans og Íslands. Í þeim anda er markmið tónleikanna að fagna vináttu og gagnkvæmum skilningi þjóðanna tveggja í gegnum tónlist.
Þessi viðburður er ókeypis. Ef veður leyfir verða tónleikarnir haldnir á Hörputorgi fyrir framan Hörpu. Annars verða þeir haldnir innandyra í Hörpu, í Hörpuhorni.

The Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) Training Squadron will make its first-ever port call to Reykjavík in late July as part of its overseas training cruise. This voyage is undertaken by newly graduated JMSDF officers, who participate in the program to develop into future leaders through practical experience at sea, broaden their global perspective, and build friendships with people around the world.
As part of this visit, the JMSDF Band—an ensemble of highly skilled musicians—will present a special concert for the public. The performance will feature a dynamic program of approximately 50 minutes, including traditional Japanese taiko drumming and wind band performance.
The repertoire will include a diverse selection of music, ranging from international and film music to Japanese popular songs and anime themes.
This year marks the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Japan and Iceland. In this spirit, the concert aims to celebrate friendship and mutual understanding through music.
This event is free of charge. Weather permitting, the concert will be held at Hörputorg, the square in front of Harpa. If the weather does not allow for an outdoor performance, the concert will be held indoors at Hörpuhorn in Harpa.
