About this Event
Learn the basics of bonsai techniques to work and style your own bonsai tree.
'Jeb' the Jaboticaba Tree, perhaps the most popular fruit-bearing tree native to Brazil. The bark is smooth, with a mottled creamy tan and reddish hue, known for its grape-like fruits that mysteriously grow on the trunk when mature. These berries are used to make jams, juice, and wines. Likes full to part-sun, consistent water and temperatures above 50F. Water by submerging every 5-7 days.
Learn basic bonsai techniques to start transforming plants into bonsai. Learn why it is important to have a good soil mix, how to look at and prune roots, and how to choose the right angles when repotting. Take this knowledge home and apply it to other plants as well.
This class is for beginners to intermediate.
TOTAL SEATS: 5
Materials Provided: one bonsai tree, handmade medium white bonsai planter, soil, decorative rocks, necessary tools for repotting. Other materials on site available for purchase.
