About this Event
Join Arianne Banda for a delightful End of Summer Foraging Walk, and explore the bounty of nature. Led by Arianne, an experienced forager and Afro-Indigenous medicine practitioner, this walk will open your eyes to sacred knowledge and foster a deeper connection to plants. Discover the secrets of herbs, flowers, and mushrooms that flourish during the season, and learn how to prepare them for food and medicine. Arianne has published the zine "Herbs and Plants for Food and Medicine" available at www.microcosm.pub, which showcases common Herbs and Plants in the Northeast and greater United States.
Prepare to immerse yourself in the beauty of nature and learn how to identify and harvest wild plants. With a focus on storytelling and practical uses, we will honor the stewards of the land and continue our celebration of Indigenous People and their incomparable knowledge.
Whether you're a beginner or an experienced forager, this walk will surely deepen your connection with the natural world. We should (it is, however, up to nature) find mugwort, mallows, what's left of the elderberries, crabapples and hopefully some mushrooms! We will end our walk with a small tasting menu of wild, foraged food. Learn more about Arianne at www.bandacreations.com
