About this Event
Join us in celebrating IslandWood's Education for Environment and Community's Class of 2026 graduate cohort! This is an opportunity to learn about the tremendous work our grads have done in their Spring quarter classes and to highlight their academic achievements in IslandWood's Education for Environment and Community's graduate certificate program, in partnership with the nationally-ranked University of Washington's College of Education's Masters in Education degree program! Come join us in the Great Hall to learn, ask questions, and celebrate the growth and learning of our esteemed scholars, educators, and soon-to-be alumni!
- 10:00am- 10:20am: Welcome & Land Acknowledgment
- 10:30am-12:00pm: Qualitative Research Methods Class Sharing
- 12:00-1:00pm: Lunch, for Grads and those who ordered / Switch- Up
- 1:00pm-1:30pm: Faculty Sharing
- 1:30pm-2:30pm: Praxis- Portfolio and Practicum Sharing
- 2:30pm-3:30pm: Climate Change & Emotionality
- 3:30-4:45pm: Advanced Instructional Strategies
- 4:45-5:00pm: Closing and Debrief
Brief description of what to expect from the Spring Colloquium:
A full day of presentations by IslandWood graduate students. They will share final projects from each of their Spring Quarter classes: School Partnerships with Celina Steiger & Alexei Demarais; Qualitative Methods with Dr. Déana Scipio; and Climate Change & Emotionality with Dr. Christina Guevara. Grads will also share about praxis- theory and practice with Dr. Priya Pugh and Ray Cramer. Grads will present their portfolios and other artifacts to share more about their year of teaching and learning at IslandWood
