Father's Day BBQ & Adventure Race 2026

Spring is the season for wild babies and animal parents are putting in overtime to care for their young, and keep them safe and teach them skills for survival. This season, let's celebrate the dads and father-figures in our lives with an old fashioned barbeque, complete with trail time and fun activities for the whole family, IslandWood-style!

We'll have trail-side 'drop-in' activities for your crew that you can visit between 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM, or feel free to just enjoy our six-miles of trails as they pass by natural landscapes that soothe, captivate and inspire. From 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM, our talented kitchen team will have a housemade barbeque dinner for you and your crew! Just come on back to the Dining Hall, and enjoy your meal, buffet-style. You may dine indoors or outdoors, just BYOPB (Bring Your Own Picnic Blanket). We have a few picnic tables too!

This event is family-friendly, so please bring your little ones, tweens, teens and adult kiddos too! There is something for everyone, even if it's just a delicious and healthy meal and a refreshing day outside. Dress comfortably and casually for a day outdoors.

Please note that our campus policy is 'no dogs unless they are a service animal.' Thank you for your understanding.

Info: Our doors open for check-in at 1:45 PM. Please note that the dinner will not be set until 4:00 PM, but you can grab some outdoor toys and play badminton, kick a ball, or just enjoy the upper campus together! We'll have a map with special campus 'drop-in' activities for you to do with your crew.

Info: Enjoy the trails, organize a pick-up game with other families in our fields, and hit the trails on your adventure race!

Info: Come on back to main campus for your delicious barbeque dinner! Lay out a blanket and enjoy a picnic, or come on inside and sit in our beautiful Dining Hall. Your dinner is all housemade that day, and smoked and prepared to dad's delight. Don't forget your dessert!
