About this Event
Join one of our experienced tour guides who will share how Islamic concepts in science and mathematics shaped the world and contributed to European architecture on a tour of the Aga Khan Centre's building, art and gardens.
You will also meet with a member of The Institute of Ismaili Studies Special collections team, who will explore selected items from the collection. These will include a 16th century Latin translation of Kitab al-manazir (Opticae Thesaurus) by father of modern optics Abu ‘Ali al-Hasan ibn al-Haytham and a 17th century Latin translation of Abu ‘Ali al-Husayn ibn ‘Abd Allah ibn Sina's al-Qanun fi al-tibb (The Canon of Medicine).
Spaces are limited so we recommend booking as soon as possible.
Please note - this tour is 2.5 hours long and is more academic in nature than our regular building tours. It is not appropriate for children, and may not be of interest to more casual visitors. If you would prefer a regular, one-hour tour of the building, .
