Investment Education Workshop

Join us for an informative Investment Education Workshop. This workshop is offered by the San Francisco Bay Area Chapter of BetterInvesting (BI), a national non-profit that is volunteer-based and member driven. BetterInvesting focuses on learning sound, practical skills and strategies that can enable individuals to become successful long-term investors.

This in-person workshop is a learning opportunity for both new and experienced stock market investors. Two tracks of classes will be offered. One track will offer classes on analyzing stocks with moats, deciding whether to trim or sell winning stocks and using portfolio management to improve returns. The other track will teach participants to use BetterInvesting's web-based tool, the Stock Selection Guide, to evaluate a company for potential investment.

Info: SSG BASICS PART I- In this class, learn how to evaluate a company for potential investment using BetterInvesting’s web-based Stock Selection Guide (SSG) tool. This tool can help you to make informed and profitable investing decisions. OWNING MOAT CAN IMPROVE YOUR SSG - Learn the definition for a moat and why having a strong one can help indicate a strong SSG. Looking for quality companies will be a major focus.

Info: SSG BASICS PART II will continue the instruction on how to use this web-based tool to identify high quality prospective stock investments at reasonable prices. TRIM OR SELL DECISIONS - This class will address the logic and factors of trimming a long-term holding vs selling a high-quality company.

Info: This interactive STOCK STUDY CLASS will show how to complete a Stock Selection Guide (SSG) for a specific company. New and experienced investors can benefit from this step-by-step demonstration of how to use this web-based tool. PORTFOLIO MANAGEMENT: In addition to finding good companies, portfolio management is a key ingredient to improving investment returns. This class will explore the basics including diversification and other helpful hints.
