This 1-day workshop is an introduction to trauma, helping participants understand what trauma is, how it impacts peoples physical, emotional and mental capacities, and how to begin considering trauma-informed ways of working.
What will you learn:
· Increase trauma-informed literacy
· Understand how to respond to trauma
· Identify causes of the prevalence of trauma
· Understand the effects of trauma on the body and brain
· Learn about poly vagal theory and trauma
· Understand epigenetics and its relation to trauma
· Increased knowledge of Intersectionality and trauma
Who should attend?
An Introduction to Trauma is for anyone who wants or needs to learn more about trauma and its impact on individuals, families, communities, and organisations.
What is Included?
· Tea, coffee and catered morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea is included.
· Participants will leave with a comprehensive participant manual with references for further reading and a toolbox of practical resources.
How much will this cost me?
Fees have been set at $120.00 per person. LGAT is funded by the Tasmanian Government, Department of Premier and Cabinet (DPaC), this funding provides a subsidy for the LGAT learning and development program.
