Burnie Foreshore Boardwalk Art Prize

1. Entries close10 th March 2025. No refunds.

2. Works must be completed between 9.00and 16.00 on the day of the competition

(16 th March 2025) and presented for judging.

3. All physical media are allowed, no digital or AI generated art will be accepted.

4. All works must be completed “en plein air” *

5. Supply of materials and equipment is entirely the artist’s responsibility, all trace of

the artist’s presence must be removed at the end of the day. No artist generated

rubbish to be left in the public space or bins.

6. Works must be painted from a vantage point within the bounds outlined in the

guidelines supplied.

7. Open to amateur and professional artists over the age of 16.

8. Open to artists from anywhere in the world, all transactions in $A.

*En plein air means the work is painted in the open air in situ.

Burnie Foreshore Boardwalk Art Prize Guidelines

 The Burnie Foreshore Boardwalk Art Prize is an annual art competition open

to amateur and professional artists.

 Prizes are awarded as follows 1 ST ($500), 2 nd ($300), 3 rd ($200). A panel of

three judges will determine the awards, all decisions are final.

 A Peoples Choice prize of $100 will be awarded based on votes received by

the public on the day.

 First prize will be acquisitive, all other prizes are non-acquisitive. All prizes are

in $A.

 The painting area is bounded by the Maker’s Workshop at the western end of

the boardwalk and the port end in the east.

 Anything which can be seen from this vantage point may be represented in

the art work.

 Spaces will not be allocated; artists will behave in a considerate and civilised

manner or be disqualified.

 Artists are not to block or impede the public walkway.

 In the event of inclement weather, artists are responsible for their own

shelter arrangements.

 BCAG members will be on site from 8.30am on March 16 th to provide

assistance if required.
