Introduction to Oil Painting with Helen Newsome

Have you thought of taking up painting as a hobby but been intimidated, this will take the mystery out of it-it’s not as scary as you think.
About this Event

This "all materials included" class will take you through the various steps involved in creating an oil painting using a "paint along" format. You will also learn how to use oil paints, how to choose and care for brushes and treat surfaces. We will develop a painting step-by-step with guidance at each stage, to help you get the feel of how to use the paints. This class is suitable for beginners to painting or for acrylic or watercolor painters who would like to try oils.

Materials provided by instructor: Instructor will provide all canvasses, paints, mediums and brushes, palettes, paper towels.

Materials to bring: Students should bring a 12" box to carry home their wet painting.
