Giulo Arts Workshop

Join me for a beginner friendly (and left-handed friendly !) workshop where I will take you from learning the basic strokes right up to writing in this beautiful script. This is such a lovely way to spend a couple of hours, and whether you choose to come solo or with a friend, you will fit right in ! It is always a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, and you come away with a lovely new skill that you can be really proud of!

I often have people say that they wanted to be able to letter someone's name on a card or gift, or simply develop a skill that gives them a mindful moment to sit and relax.

We will begin with the 9 basic strokes, then move on to formation of letters. Then I will demonstrate the Majuscules - Capital Letters, and end with practice of some common words / phrases. I will provide you with:

1. Giulo Arts Workbook. I designed this so that you can continue to use it well after the workshop at home.
2. A Japanese Brush Pen from Tombow. I have chosen a hard tip that is easier for beginners to use.
3. Marker Paper to lay over each page so that you can make repeated use of the workbook.
4. A coffee or tea and a pastry to enjoy !

About your Teacher

Hi my name is Lucy and I am the calligrapher and memory journal fan behind Giulo Arts, named after my 2 girls. You can check out my Instagram here!

I have always loved to incorporate calligraphy into my journals, or any craft I am working on. What I love about Modern Calligraphy is that you can put your own slant onto it, once you have learned and practiced your basic letter forms.

For me it is something that I find to be very relaxing and mindful. There is always such a wonderful atmosphere when I am teaching a workshop, and it is lovely to watch participants finding they have a common interest in other crafts or journaling too !

Three Little Birds Cafe is such a fabulous spot to sit down and relax while you enjoy their gorgeous food and drinks on the menu. It is bright and welcoming and is the type of cafe that makes you want to hang around a bit longer, so feel free to stay for a delicious lunch after the workshop !
