Introduction to Master Plant Dietas
What if our relationship with plants could go beyond what we eat, the medicine they provide, or how we use them in everyday life?
Join us for a special educational workshop with Txana Seberūa, an Indigenous Amazonian plant teacher who shares traditional wisdom surrounding master plants and the practice of plant dietas.
In Western culture, we often learn about plants through science, nutrition, and their physical properties. Within Amazonian Indigenous traditions, certain plants are also understood as teachers, and people cultivate a relationship with them through intentional periods of simplicity, dietary restrictions, reflection, and deep listening.
A plant dieta is a traditional practice of dedicating time to connect with a particular plant, learn from its teachings, and deepen one's relationship with the natural world. These practices vary among Indigenous communities and are traditionally guided by experienced practitioners.
During this workshop, Txana will introduce us to the cultural and spiritual understanding behind master plant dietas, sharing insights into these traditions and inviting us to reconsider how we relate to plants, nature, and ourselves.
You don't need any prior experience or knowledge to attend. This is an opportunity to learn, ask questions, and explore a perspective on the plant world that may be very different from what you've encountered before.
🌱 Come curious. Deepen your understanding. Reconnect with the wisdom of the natural world.
