What if there are ways of experiencing the world that extend beyond what we normally see, hear and understand?
I would like to introduce you to a framework that humans have used to explore consciousness, spirit and relationship with the unseen… and give you an opportunity to experience it for yourself.
In this experiential class, we will explore the Shamanic or Animistic Worlds.
Together, we’ll explore the significance of these worlds within shamanic traditions while also looking at similar ideas that appear in psychology, mythology and other spiritual and traditions. We’ll discss the symbolism of different realms, sacred landscapes, altered states of awareness and the human experience of encountering something beyond ordinary reality.
You’ll learn practices for clearing and grounding yourself and creating a sacred space for your experience.
Through trance… supported by the rhythm of a drum you’ll have an opportunity to explore your Power Place and see what unfolds. You may encounter a guide, a landscape, a feeling or simply a new way of experiencing yourself and the world around you.
There is no right or wrong experience. You don't need to have journeyed before and you don't need to believe anything in particular.
The invitation is simply to be curious.
What to Bring...
Come as you are and bring anything that will help you feel comfortable during our time together. Suggestions are... A blanket or pillow: You may wish to lie down or get comfortable on the floor. A journal and pen: For recording ideas, experiences, images or insights that come forward.Tea, water and coffee will be available and a light snack.
A quick note about sensitivities: We may use smoke cleansing (smudge) and oils as part of our preparation. If you have any sensitivities to smoke, scents or essential oils, please let me know ahead of time so we can discuss your needs.
Come with an open mind, a willingness to explore and a little curiosity about what might be waiting beyond the familiar.
