Lisa Takahashi is a Somerset-based artist, best known for her bold geometric linocut prints of cyclists. Her work is influenced by both British Modernism and French Impressionism. Her linocuts and paintings are largely landscape based, and celebrate the overlooked beauty of the everyday.Lisa is a member of Somerset Printmakers and has exhibited at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, The Royal Watercolour Society Contemporary Watercolour Competition, the New English Art Club, the Royal Society of British Artists and the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers.
In this one-day workshop you will be introduced to the process of linocut printing. You will learn how to hand print linocuts using a spoon or Japanese bamboo baren, before designing a one-colour linocut image and transferring it to the block, before cutting, inking and printing. The session is suitable for beginners, or printmakers who would like a refresher.
Materials along with tea/coffee are included.
Tickets £80.00
