Introduction to Autoethnographic and Experiential Narrative (Engl/Italian)
About this Event
APS STADT is pleased to present a seminar/workshop dedicated to the narrative practice of autoethnographic inquiry. A dissemination of the qualitative research practice explored by the International Association for Autoethnography and Narrative Inquiry (IAANI), this event offers to master's students, researchers, and writers the opportunity to explore and deepen their understanding of what autoethnographic research entails, how autoethnography is applied across different academic disciplines, the ethical framework that underpins this narrative approach, and how autoethnographic narrative intersects with the arts.
Autoethnography occupies a unique position at the intersection of autobiography and ethnography, inviting researchers to draw on their own lived experience in order to illuminate broader cultural, social, and political phenomena. This seminar/workshop aims to introduce participants to the foundational principles of autoethnographic writing and experiential narrative, while also creating space for critical dialogue and methodological experimentation.
We welcome contributions addressing, but not limited to, the following themes:
- Foundations and key debates in autoethnographic research
- The relationship between personal experience and cultural inquiry
- Vulnerability, positionality, and reflexivity in narrative research
- Autoethnography across disciplines: education, arts, health, social sciences
- Creative and multimodal forms of autoethnographic expression
- Ethics of self-disclosure and representation
- Experiential narrative as a tool for transformation and empowerment
- Intersections between autoethnography and artistic practice
