Intersections: Soul, Jazz & Hip Hop LIVE across the Generations
About this Event
Global Artists Collective presents a live concert event exploring Intersections of Soul, Jazz & Hip-Hop across the Generations. The 9-member ensemble will take you on a journey from the classic Jazz Hip Hop of Digable Planets and Eric B & Rakim to original songs. For this special program, the award-winning NW band Global Heat will feature the family of MC/B-boy Fidget, Grammy-nominated Jazz artist Nathan Breedlove, and percussionist Ted Sharpe.
This live music event is Free for the Public and open to All Ages, as part of ; and is supported in part by 4Culture, Seattle Office of Arts & Culture, and Bellevue Cross-Cultural Center without Walls project grants.

About Global Heat
Funky beats, heart-felt vocals, and positive vibes have led to Global Heat band being called: “Truly remarkable and wonderful” [Joyce Taylor, NBC News, Seattle] and “High-caliber” [Pioneer Center for the Performing Arts, Reno]. Soon after its formation, the band was featured at the 2006 Shanghai (China) International Music Festival. As a featured ensemble of Global Artists Collective, they have released original music recordings, toured the NW, and to Reno, Oregon, and California and received awards from 4Culture, Artist Trust, Cities of Seattle, Bothell, and Bellevue, Theatre Puget Sound, and Bellingham Music Film Festival. Global Heat or individual members have worked with Black Eyed Peas, Con Funk Shun, New Edition, Roger Fisher (co-founder of Heart), Massive Monkees; and shared billings with Blood, Sweat & Tears, Alan White Band, Baaba Maal, Cee Lo Green (The Voice), Macklemore, Busta Rhymes, Missy Elliott, Jurassic 5, and others.
