Dana
This day is offered in the spirit of dana. There is no formal charge for the dana. Support for the teacher, the Berkeley Buddhist Monastery, and our community projects is very much appreciated. The practice of dana that has kept the Buddhist tradition alive for more than 2,600 years in Asia. There is no "right amount" since each person's circumstance is different. The principle is that dana should be a source of joy to the one giving. The teachers share the teachings in this spirit of generosity. There will be an opportunity to offer dana at the event. We gratefully receive the support of participants.
