Insight Berkeley Hybrid Daylong
Join us for a day of mindful sitting and walking meditation at the Berkeley Buddhist Monastery. In the midst of all the external chaos, this in-person and hybrid event will provide you with the opportunity to deepen your practice and go wwithin with like-minded friends. Whether you're a seasoned practitioner or new to meditation, this daylong retreat offers a space for quietly connecting to the stillness within at the Monastery or in your home. James will offer instructions, Dharma talk and discussion.

Dana
Suggested donation: $35. However, this day is offered in the spirit of dana. There is no formal charge for the dana. Support for the teachers and our community projects is very much appreciated. The practice of dana that has kept the Buddhist tradition alive for more than 2,600 years in Asia. There is no "right amount" since each person's circumstance is different. The principle is that dana should be a source of joy to the one giving. The teachers share the teachings in this spirit of generosity. There will be an opportunity to offer dana at the event. The teachers gratefully receive the support of participants.
Teachers
James Baraz is a founding teacher of Spirit Rock Meditation Center. James started the Community Dharma Leader program, the Kalyana Mitta Network, and the Spirit Rock Family Program (with his wife, Jane), for which he is a teacher-advisor. He’s led the popular Awakening Joy online course since 2003. James is co-author of Awakening Joy: Ten Steps to Happiness and Awakening Joy for Kids. James is also a guiding teacher of One Earth Sangha, a Virtual EcoDharma Center devoted to Buddhist responses to Climate Change.
