Join the Spirit Wind Hand Drum Collective for a powerful and uplifting Indigenous drumming circle filled with songs and storytelling.
About this Event

Through traditional and social hand-drum songs shared with drum, voice, stories, and shakers, Spirit Wind brings together multi-talented Indigenous artists, singers, songwriters, and dancers to honour Native spirituality and cultural traditions.

Named for the importance of giving thanks for our breath, Spirit Wind’s performances reflect the drum’s sacred role as the heartbeat of Mother Earth and a reminder of our connection to Creation. Rooted in the growing tradition of womxn’s hand drum social singing, this welcoming gathering invites people of all backgrounds to listen, learn, and stand together in celebration of Indigenous culture and shared community.

This Drumming Circle will be held in the north east corner of Allan Gardens, close to the intersection of Sherbourne Street and Carlton Street. However, if it rains, this event will be postponed to July 16th at Dixon Hall (188 Carlton Street) from 6pm to 8pm. Please register in order to be notified if this event is rescheduled.

Do not take pictures of sacred cultural ground and teepee.

Accessibility: This event will take place outdoors, with chairs and water supplied. Bathrooms are available inside Allan Gardens.
