Indians on Gallipoli: Exploring Their Contribution
About this Event
Were There Indians at Gallipoli?
Spoiler alert - well actually yes, in fact there were as many Indians as New Zealanders!
Join us on Saturday 17th October at 3.00pm where we explore the Indian contribution.
Although not often talked about, the Indian contribution to the Gallipoli Campaign was significant. Although only a single brigade of infantry, they were present at almost all of the significant events of the campaign including the capture of Ghurka Bluff, the assault on Hill Q as part of the August offensive, and finally the attack of the 14th Sikhs across Gully Ravine as part of the 3rd Battle of Krithia where they received 82% casualties. This talk is an opportunity to look at the Gallipoli Campaign from a different perspective.
