Project Launch & Meadow Creation! - Heggs, Yorkshire Dales
About this Event
Come and join us for our first ever event at Heggs Farm! Youngwilders have a new site in the Yorkshire Dales, where we'll be giving a helping hand to restore and manage land, as part of a 200-acre renaturing site.
What to expect:
This will be a welcome day with a tour around the site followed by a co-creation session where we will discuss what you would like to see happen there - for nature and for people.
- Site intro and exploration walk - we'll start the day off with a gentle expedition around the site to see what work is already being done!
- Co-creation workshop - we'll chat about the best ways we could transform the site, using our imaginations to dream up ideas of what we want to see ecologically and to engage more young people
Who is this for?
This event is open to those aged 18-30 interested in nature or looking to make connections with like-minded folk! Everyone is welcome and no prior knowledge is needed :)
About the Heggs site:
Heggs Farm is a rewilding project initiated in 2021 by Liz Sutcliffe. So far the nature restoration work has focused on pond creation, tree planting and leaky dam building. This will be our first event at Heggs, and we hope to further increase the biodiversity on this incredible rewilding project.
