About this Event

Join us for a Saturday matinee presentation of new work from four established indie filmmakers. The hour-long program will feature:

Half a Century
Directed by Jackie Mahoney

A nanny goes on vacation with her affluent employers and uncovers a dark family secret.

Set against the backdrop of a family celebration, Half a Century explores themes of power, complicity, and the tension between survival and morality. When Sarah, a nanny struggling to make ends meet, becomes entangled in the murky dynamics of her wealthy employers, she faces an impossible choice between exposing the truth or protecting herself.

Chambers Street
Directed by Scott D. Keenan

A young man, shadowed by the ghost of his ex-girlfriend, spirals into the loss of the relationship.

“Chambers Street” is a screendance film about the lingering presence of a former partner and the quiet weight of emotional memory. As a young man moves through the aftermath of a relationship, he is shadowed -literally and figuratively – by what remains. The film explores how love shapes the most personal parts of our daily lives, and how its absence carves space just as deeply.

Las Hadas de la Sombra
Directed by Ryan Jenkins

A desperate mother must keep the peace between her young children and the uncle that begrudgingly hosts them. When her daughter refuses to eat the repetitive meals, she tells her a fairy tale about what could come looking for leftovers.

How did your parents convince you to eat when you were a kid? For Pablita, it's a tale her mother passes down about an ancient starving creature, and how wasted food could bring it to your doorstep. But the story will only work if she's convinced it's real...

Second Coming
Directed by Victoria Diana

Jesus appears at a pious family’s Christmas dinner and offers them a shocking proposition.

The world is going to end, and the only way to stop it is if Jesus sleeps with their 20-something daughter, Kimberleigh. Second Coming is a raunchy Christmas comedy about Jesus, family, and saving the world.

A talk-back with the films' directors will follow.
