Participants will learn strategies to engage children in communication. Participants will learn language and literacy activities and strategies to increase communication skills with children. Strategies will also be shared around using books to increase language development.
Training Objectives:
1 . Participants will practice expansion with a partner and create a list of words to use in the classroom for expansion.
2 . Participants will create a list of questions to use in centers and during large group to encourage children to communicate.
3 . Participants will use ideas gained in training to design a lesson around a book that will increase language in the classroom.
Each professional development session offered by The Children’s Cabinet utilizes a knowledge check to ensure that our participants understand our training objectives and our instructors are providing a comprehensive learning experience. You can expect to receive a three question quiz or test at the end of each training.
