In Talk: In My Father's Footsteps - a lifetime's obsession with Scotland's Munros
Earlier this year - 50 years on from my dad’s ‘compleation’ - I returned to the Highlands with 38 Munros left unticked on my list. I had a short window of time in which to knock them off, and a soon-to-be-replaced knee, but marking the 50th anniversary of dad’s pioneering feat gave me extra determination to get the job done. This is the story - illustrated with images and video - of how it all unfolded.
Doors open 6.15pm for a 6.30pm start. Tickets $20 from Humanitix ($25 at the door, if not sold out). All money raised goes directly to Island Hills Station to help with their conservation efforts - with trapping invasive species, enhancing the native biodiversity and their ultimate goal of bringing back Great Spotted Kiwi to Island Hills.
