Alien Weaponry: Kua Tupu Te Ara | Film Screening
Spanning more than a decade, the film traces Alien Weaponry's story from their beginnings as young brothers Henry and Lewis de Jong, who formed the band as children, through to international tours and performances on some of the world's biggest metal stages. Combining six years of documentary footage with home videos from the band's early years, Kua Tupu Te Ara offers a personal look at life on the road, the relationships behind the band, and the experiences that have shaped them.
Performing many of their songs in te reo Māori and drawing inspiration from Māori history and whakapapa, Alien Weaponry has connected with audiences around the world while remaining grounded in who they are. Kua Tupu Te Ara is an honest portrait of a band whose story is still unfolding.
Complimentary snack size popcorn included.
Non-alocholic drinks and snacks will be available for purchase before the screening.

Guided by the whakaaro of ihirangaranga, the programme explores sound as a source of connection—carrying memory, wellbeing, and culture across generations. Through music, movement, film, and shared creative experiences, Ihirangaranga invites people to come together, listen, learn, and explore the many ways sound connects us to one another, our communities, and our stories.
Ngā mihi nui to the Farina Thompson Charitable Trust, proudly managed by Perpetual Guardian, for their generous support in making Ihirangaranga: creation & connection possible.
