Improv 401: The Harold (Thursdays 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM)

In our fourth level, we'll approach Long Form from the 16-bar blues of improv, Harold.

Over eight weeks, this course will strengthen the broad skills you have (two-person scenes, group work, playing from emotion, pattern recognition), and put it all on its feet in a longer, cohesive piece.

Prerequisites: None. No previous comedy or stand-up experience required for this class. Email [email protected] with questions.

Dates: This class runs Wednesdays from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM, starting August 13th and running for 8 weeks. A showcase will be scheduled as an additional opportunity on an evening during the week of October 5th or 12th.

Instructor: J McClain

J. McClain is a Native Virginian who studied theatre in North Carolina, grew into a Performance Artist in New York City and has been working with the Coalition for 4 years, currently performing with the house team Street Jelly and previously finishing their run on the house team Grandma Cat. They are excited to teach a class this semester and enjoying the play and laughter that will come!

COST: $250 (Early Bird $220)
